Artists from the EU/ EEA

From December 31st, 2020 all non-UK and non Common Travel Area (CTA) nationals entering the UK to perform will require entry clearance.

EU and EEA countries from December 31st 2020 are now considered non-visa national countries and although citizens of those countries will not need a visa for stays in the UK of less than 3 months performing artists from the EU/ EEA will need Tier 5 Certificates of Sponsorship (CoS) to perform in the UK unless they opt for Permitted Paid Engagement (PPE) entry (non-performing group members not covered).

PPE is valid for up to a month and is negotiated with passport control officers on UK entry (non-visa PPE). The uncertainty around obtaining PPE entry clearance on arrival is why most non-visa nationals opt for CoS to guarantee entry before arrival.

CoS can only be obtained via a licensed sponsor such as CME Artist Services.
